Papers of the Kneeland Family, 1820-1961.

The collection contains Clarissa Kneeland's notebooks on the weather, plants, and birds of Black Mountain, as well as manuscripts of her stories and novels. It also contains Ira Kneeland's sketches for his inventions. The family's collection of materials on socialism and well-known figures in the novement, such as Eugene V. Debs, the O'Hara family, Thomas Mooney, and Upton Sinclair, is also included.
